Hey Everyone,
I hope that everyone one is well and still alive and kicking round DA long enough to read this. I've barely done any artwork or had time to look at anywork, so i do apoplogise. School has been crazy so I have a backlog of deviations, so please be patient and I will get to them in time.
As you have probably gathered, it is my 18th birthday soon. This Sunday in fact. Everyone keeps asking if I'm excited about it - and I am. I just go in and out of excitement. Sometimes I forget completely about it and then someone will remind me and I will get excited all over again. I swear my teacher know that I have my birthday and party this weekend and have deliberatly piled on the homwork. On Saturday I'm having a party of sorts - just a bunch of good friends over in the afternoon to hang out and play classic kiddy party games. Then a few of us are going out for dinner to a Chinese resturant. I was orginally going to have a joint party with my friend Martin but it got the the point where we were just going to wash each other's birthday out and it wouldn't be special for either of us and would take away from our birthdays. Also we wanted different things so we both decided it was going to be better if we do it separate.
Also, to begin with, my parents didn't want me to have a party at our house, so they saw the joint party as a way to escape it. They started to feel guilty when I wasnt really feeling very excited about my birthday or our joint party. so they gave in and gave me guilt money and said i could orgainse something for just myself. So the money is going towards dinner, but it means i can only have a few people to dinner so I decided to just get a bunch of my closest friends together in the afternoon to celebrate. I only wanted a small bunch because, while I like going to parties, I don't like being the center of them and having to worry about everyone and the house and our stuff.
Anyway, what this really means is that I have a tonne of things to organise between now and then. Here is just a quick list.
- buy chocolate
- make cake
- make cake decorations out of chocolate
- make pin the tail on the donkey game
- make pass the parcel
- buy prizes
- buy lollies
- buy food
- buy drinks
- organise a list of people who said they are/aren't coming
- buy stockings
- practise walking in my new high heels so I don't make an arse of myself. (Mum is so proud, I'm actually going to look like a proper girl at my birthday dinner, dress, shoes, stockings, make up, hair. this is instead of my usual jeans and multiple shirts and jackets)
- get some party music
- make sure the camera is working
- relax!
these are the things I can think of off the top of my head, which probably means that I have forgotten about thrity other things. Not to mention that on top of all this I have to do my homework, have a photo shoot on night and work Saturday morning. God I'm ging to be busy. Oh also - CALLING ALL MY LOVELY GIRLFRIENDS! If anyone has a trenchcoat (preferably black, but i'm not going to be fussy) that they wont need at my birthday party. Could I borrow it? I'm going to freeze in my dress otherwise.
Anyway I think that is it. Hopefully I actually make it to my birthday. Geez this is long. If you read it all I shall add a wish for you when I cut my cake.
